Raspiblitz slow sync performance

I'm syncing my raspberry pi 4 model B, 4GB and after 4 days I'm less than 50% synced. It seems as though there is something wrong with bitcoind as there are some weird symptoms going on. The pi is running raspiblitz 1.7RC2 (64bit). I have 400mbps internet and it's connected to a new 1TB sandisk ssd. First I looked at the debug.log file (sudo tail -f /mnt/hdd/bitcoin/debug.log) When bitoind is first started up I see blocks being added at a rate of several per second. After letting it run for awhile it slows down to one block every few seconds.…

Download blocks in blk00000.dat format from a specific period

For study purposes, I would like to download blocks from a specific period, i.e. January 2017 - June 2017, in blk.dat format (blk00000.dat, blk*.dat). I downloaded blockchain.core but it makes me download the whole blockchain - correct me if I'm wrong. Also I tried with blockchain.info but the problem is that I can only get one block at a time and just in Json or Hex format - don't need those. So, do you know how could I do and with which program or API to use? I'm a beginner, so please the more details you can give the better…

Change IBD Location Prior to Download

I'd like to run Bitcoin Core but my laptop can't handle the load. I have an external drive with enough space, but I'm unsure if/how to change the file destination upon opening the program. Is this possible?

Wallet download issues, cannot restore backup

greetings everybody ..... I hope everybody is safe. I have a problem recovering my wallet, earlier this year there was a link on the website that make me able to access my wallet and recover the wallet in case of being lost. I used the link bitgowallet (dot) org and made a restore to my wallet and given to me all the data of the wallet and it contained 8.85 btc. And after entering the authorization password and safe words it gave me a copy of the date and install the wallet on my desktop. and then asked me to…

Clarfication on ” network synchrounisation” in analyzing bitcoin protocol in a synchronous model

I am reading The Bitcoin Backbone Protocol:Analysis and Applications and i have no previous knowledge on different type of networks . And there is a term in paper " high network synchronicity " which i really can not understand. The paper is analyzing core of bitcoin protocol which it call it bitcoin backbone protocol . They analyze protocol in a synchronous model ( messages will be delivered at most at the beginning of next round). Here are some part of paper which is talking about synchronization . n is number of parties running the protocol which is fixed and t is…

Should a node follow the longest chain, or the chain with most work while syncing?

I'm reading mixed things online - some saying to follow the longest chain, and some say to follow the chain with the most work. But I'm not convinced of the former. If the node follows the longest chain, what is to stop the scenario of a bad actor sending a completely false chain to my node with a really easy target of 1? The chain could be longer than the main chain, and I can't see any consensus mechanisms preventing that chain from technically being invalid. If following the chain with the most work is the way to go, then…

I have BTC mined in Bitcore 0.9, with balance however the system no longer synchronizes, and in the blockchain is no balance

I will mine some BTCs in the bitcore 0.9 version from August to December 2019, they are listed in my history as "generated" and with several confirmations with one, the balance appears in my system, however when I put the key or the hast on the blockchain there is no balance. Another problem is that my system is stuck, it doesn't synchronize anymore, I've tried using a 0.20 and 0.18 bitcore, I copied the wallet to the new systems but then the transactions appear without validation, even synchronizing the system. Does anyone know what I should do?

How can I make Zap synchronize with the Bitcoin network?

I'm using the Mac operating system. I downloaded Lightning App and Zap from Github. The wallet can not be synchronized with the network, how can I synchronize it and can I do it without having to download the full blockchain? Lightning App shows me the error the network can not be synchronized..., when I launch Lightning App it also pops up an error: Syncing to chain ... block height: 0. When I launch Zap: Uncaught Exception: Error: Connect Failed at ClientReadableStream._emitStatusIfDone (/Applications/Zap.app/Contents/Resources/app.asar/node_modules/grpc/src/client.js:255:19) at ClientReadableStream._readsDone (/Applications/Zap.app/Contents/Resources/app.asar/node_modules/grpc/src/client.js:221:8) at readCallback (/Applications/Zap.app/Contents/Resources/app.asar/node_modules/grpc/src/client.js:283:12) What am I missing to get Lightning to run?
